    Hello everyone,
my coworkers found a bug in the combine PDF function where Microsoft Word Fields with FileName are altered.

We have a field in the footer of our invoices which is the invoice number. This field is automaticly filled by using the filename of the document. If you open the .docx the filed is refreshed and the name of the word document is inerted. In the example we are using the invoice number: FBA 522569-4
See red square in the sreeenshot below. I blacked out some identifying information.

If we now combine the raw .docx file with the proof of record (a seperate .pdf document) using the Combine PDF function this field is altered by a internal string PDF24 uses during processing the documents it combines.  The field now shows: ebb_0_179608265_1171822936.docx

This bug exists in the installed offline version:

    And in the online one:

Unfortunately I was not able to resolve this without adding extra steps into the process, like removing the filed or using print to pdf for the Word file before combining documents.
This can be reproduced by creating a Field in word and setting it to file name and then combining the .docx file with some other file:

I think this might be a bug or rather a little oversight when using a FileName variable in Word.
Is there any way to stop PDF24 from renaming the documents it processes?

    Cheers,

Sorry, I could not attach any images to this Board.
Copy Paste results in broken images,
linking them results in broken images
Pasting links in my reply (I can not edit my own post O.o) makes the post vanish.
