I find myself often changing "Pages per Sheet" because I want to create a 1-page PDF from a document that would otherwise be 2-4 pages.
To save these steps, I wanted to setup PDF24 as not just one Windows printer, but rather as three different printers:
1. PDF24
2. PDF24 2-UP
3. PDF24 4-UP
Here's the process I used:
1. Printers & Scanners
2. Add a printer or scanner
3. The printer I want isn't listed
4. Add a local printer with manual settings
5. Use an existing port: \\.\pipe\PDFPrint
6. Manufacturer: Generic
7. Printers: Generic / Text Only
8. Next
9. If prompted "Which version of the driver do you want to use?": Use the driver that is currently installed.
10. Printer name: (for example) PDF24 2-UP
11. Do not share this printer
12. Finish
13. Click new printer in list
14. Manage
15. Printer properties
16. Advanced
17. Driver: PDF24
18. Apply
19. Printing Defaults
20. Pages per Sheet: 2
21. OK
22. OK
23. Repeat steps 2-22 to add a 4-UP driver.
It would be helpful if the PDF24 installer would provide an option to add a second driver when you run it a second time.
It would be super cool if there was a setting that would make PDF24 automatically switch 1-4 pages per sheet to match the length of the document. E.g. Fit maximum of N pages per sheet: options 1-16.
