Hello, I installed PDF24 Creator about 48 hours ago on my Windows XP Pro (SP3) operating system and it does not work because the service related to the printer is missing.

Note that this service worked very well after the software was installed and until the next operating system restart. Immediately after the reboot a dialog box appeared telling me that the service had not started and that I had to click on the button below to start it. So I clicked several times on the button but to no avail because it did not want to restart, so to force things I was on the Windows service management module and I forced the service to restart. But force to note that this service did not want to restart and that the following error message was displayed "Error 1053: The service did not respond quickly enough to the request of launching or control. ".

I was then on the system event log and there were several posts about PDF24 Creator registered, including the following:

Error 7000: The PDF24 service failed to start because of the error: The service did not respond quickly enough to the launch or control request.
Error 7009: Waiting time (30000 milliseconds) for a PDF24 service connection.

Error 54: The Microsoft Word document - Creating your app - 6 key points to know about copyright - was damaged and was removed. The associated driver is: PDF24.

Finally for your information, here is the contents of the registry for this service:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    "Description"="PDF24 PDF Printer Service"

Since the installation of the application and until today, I have done several reboots of my system and each time the same dialog box appears to report the problem. So what to do?

I hope that all this information will help to find a solution. If you want more precision in this matter, do not hesitate to send me a message. Thank you

    See you

Please try the latest version of the PDF24 Creator. Did you install the PDF24 Creator into the default folder or did you change the install directory? If you have changed the install directory, what folder did you use?

    I also have this problem.
Win XP SP3. I just checked for PDF24 updates and am running the latest.

Works fine when installed, but after a restart I get the error message "The PDF24 Windows service is not started..."
Clicking on the "Start PDF24 service" button produces a "Run As" dialog and then nothing. The service does not start and I cannot start it from Windows Management.

    Installed to default folder.
The service path to executable is "C:\Program Files\PDF24\pdf24.exe" -service

Any ideas how to fix this?

Do you have version 8.4.1 installed? If not, please try this version. This should fix your problem.

    OK, I tried version 8.4.1
(note the check for update did not find it)

    Exactly the same problem.

Hi, I have the same problem (WIN XP SP3, The PDF24 Windows service is not started…) and I have the 8.4.1 version.

this is still a problem on 8.6.1 windows 10 1709
