The file size can be controled by the quality levels and by the parameters in the Save as dialog, mainly by the DPI and compression settings.
pdf24MemberEnsure, that the PDF24 Windows Service is running. Do not stop the service, otherwise the PDF printer will not work. If the service is stopped, start the service.
If you have print jobs in the printer queue, you can remove the jobs directly in the GUI of the printer queue.
The problem with the temp folder: Open the TEMP directory of your user profile and remove the PDF24 subfolder. This should solve the problem.
If you do not have the latest version (which is currently 8.4.0), install this one, because we have fixed some bugs regarding these issues.
pdf24MemberThe company behind the software was founded in 2006 and PDF24 itself is a few months older. Since then, the software has been developed step by step.
pdf24MemberSelect the PDF standard in the gereral page to make these settings visible.
pdf24MemberPlease try the latest version of the PDF24 Creator. Did you install the PDF24 Creator into the default folder or did you change the install directory? If you have changed the install directory, what folder did you use?

pdf24MemberWe do not have specific presentations. We have a lot of information on our web pages. A lot of images and information is located on this page: https://en.pdf24.org/pdf-creator-features.html
pdf24MemberIf you don't get an answer, it's usually because no one has an answer to your question.
pdf24MemberYes you can.
- Install the PDF24 Creator
- Open the creator via the desktop icon
- Drop your file into the right window pane
- Select the pages and hit Delete
- Save your new filepdf24MemberThank you for that feedback. If you had some install issues which you have solved, you could share your solution here if it could help other people.
We continue to develop the software to make it better and more universal.
pdf24MemberThe PDF24 Creator determines the file name from the print job name. If the print jo9b name just use Microsoft Visual Basic as name, than the PDF24 Creator will use that name. You have to set a proper print job name in order to get better names in the PDF24 Assistant.
pdf24MemberYou could also invoke the doctool to print the files:
pdf24-docTool.exe -shellPrint –printerName "PRINTER_NAME" "FILE1" "FILE2" ...
pdf24MemberDo you like to see this feature in our online tool at https://tools.pdf24.org/add-page-numbers-to-pdf or in the PDF24 Creator? Our online tool supports page number offsets now.
pdf24MemberSorry, I think I did not get the meaning of your text. Could you explain further?
pdf24MemberHi,
the trick is to use quotes around the file argument. The following command should work:
"C:\Program files\Office\Outlook.exe" /c ipm.note /a "$file"
pdf24MemberInteresting. I've put this feature request 0n the list, so that we will add it to one of the next versions.
Just as information: You can also reduce the size of PDF files online
pdf24MemberA lot of companies are using the PDF24 Creator. Here are some of them, some larger ones:
KONICA MINOLTA, Molex, Swarovski, EV Group, LIDL, Edeka, Kaufland, DVAG, ISGN, Intertek, ....pdf24MemberWhen outlook does not send the right filename, then the pdf24 can not determine the name from the print job and outbind://2-00000000CDD21EC4E8BC8E419987BD5255E30EF84B26400 is not the right file name.
pdf24MemberWhat print job name does outlook 2003 use? You could temporarily disable the PDF24 Windows Service to not process the print jobs and then you can print from outlook and then open the printer queue to see all print jobs. What name does outlook use?
pdf24MemberThe registry keys of the PDF24 Creator are currently not well documented. We will improve that later.

NoOnlineConverter (DWORD) [0|1]
NoTrayIcon (DWORD) [0|1]pdf24MemberHi,
you can already disable the link to the online PDF tools via a registry entry. The config is located under the PATH HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/PDFPrint
Set the DWORD value NoOnlinePdfTools=1 to disable the link to the online PDF tools.
This option is available since version 8.0.0
pdf24MemberDo you use the latest version of the the PDF24 Creator? This is version 8.2.1.
pdf24MemberSorry, we can't reproduce this issue on our test machines. Could it be, that the settings app can not write to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/PDFPrint?
You could monitor this with an monitoring app. The UpdateMode value stores the update mode.
pdf24MemberHi,
can you send me a sample file to forum@pdf24.org so that I can see what do you mean?
pdf24MemberDo you use the latest version?
pdf24MemberThere are no special tuning flags which would accelerate merging PDF files. Merging is done via Ghostscript and if the process is slower on the terminal server than I would say that Ghostscript runs significantly slower on your terminal server. How fast the merging process is depends on the input files. Merging without Ghostscript (this would speed up merging) is still on our TODO. This feature, with Ghostscript as fall-back, will be available in one of the next releases.
pdf24MemberPress F12 to open the console. Then load your file and see whats happening in the console. Send the console outputs to forum@pdf24.org so that we can investigate further. Please do not post the console outputs here into the forum.
pdf24MemberAny specific image or does it happen randomly?
pdf24MemberHm, OK good to know. I'll investigate this.
pdf24MemberI can't see any problems here. I've tested the settings and I can switch between the 3 options and regardless what I enable, the setting gets applied. The update settings are working correctly for me.
