Seems that there is something strange with your PDF files. You cold open the DEBUG console with F12 and there you can see what the programs is doing. You could post the outputs here so that we can see what happens.
pdf24MemberShould normally work on Windows XP. The current version works on our test systems and on a lot of client machines. It's not that easy to say what's going wrong on your PC.
pdf24MemberHi,
you have to use the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/PDFPrint
pdf24MemberProfiles currently can't be stored in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE space. This feature is still on our TODO. Currently you have to copy a profile into the user space.
pdf24MemberThe app itself automatically selects the last used profile on next application start. There is no option to force a specific profile.
You could consider the auto save mode to save files automatically. There you can set a profile which is used in the saving process.
pdf24MemberYou could create a profile for PDF/A and then you can use that profile in the apps.
pdf24MemberHi,
there is an easier solution with PDF24. Just use the PDF24 DocTool. You can use the DocTool to create PDF files from documents and you can advise this tool to save the file under a specified file name.
Just call the docTool without parameters to get the command line description.
pdf24MemberHmm, I can't reproduce it. The compression tool from version 8.0.1 compresses well on my computer. Therefore I asked for other test files so that I can compare your results with my results.
pdf24MemberHi,
can you send me your file to forum@pdf24.org, so that I can analyse this issue? Do you get the same results with our online PDF compression tool?
pdf24MemberYou can export/import from the windows registry. The profiles are located under the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREPDFPrintProfiles.
pdf24MemberPlease update to the new version 8.0.1. This version should fix the issue.
pdf24MemberClose every process which has something to do with pdf24. All PDF24 process contains the name pdf24, like pdf24.exe or pdf24-Creator.exe. CLose all these processes, also processes from other users. In the taskmanager you have to check "Show all process" to see all the processes of your Windows. If that does not help, try a reboot.
pdf24MemberWhat you can do is to set the PDF24 printer as the default printer. That should help. Normally the PDF24 applications does this automatically but who knows what happens on your computer.
pdf24MemberWhich version of the PDF24 Creator do you use?
pdf24MemberTry to print the file on the PDF printer to create a new PDF file and then use the newly created file. Hope that helps.
pdf24MemberYes, we now that problem and we try to fix it with the next version.
pdf24MemberNot a bug, a feature. Right-click on your file and choose PDF24. The new PDF24 file tools app opens where you can select a tool to apply on the files. In older version we couldn't extend the shell context menu any further because of windows limitation but the new app gives us the possibility to extend the app with more tools.
pdf24MemberThe PDF24 itself currently can't open password protected PDF files directly. You have to remove the password protection first by printing on the PDF printer to create a new PDF files which is not password protected. We will add the feature to open password protected PDF files in a subsequent version but it will still take some releases until we have that feature available.
pdf24MemberPlease try the latest version 7.9.0. This version should fix your problem.
pdf24MemberHi,
please download the current file from our website. The current files fixes that issue.
pdf24MemberAnd what is not working. What is the problem? You can send screenshots to forum@pdf24.org. Is version 7.8.0 working?
pdf24MemberThe Javascript codes s are removed. Compare the codes. In your code all javascript click and submit handlers are not available. The form is not working without the scripts.
pdf24MemberPlease ensure that you have installed a TWAIN driver and not a WIA driver.
pdf24MemberPlease check that the pdf24.exe is running. You can check that in your task manager. If the pdf24.exe has stopped then you will see an error that the print job could not be sent to the printer. You can restart the pdf24.exe by opening the PDF24 Creator.
pdf24MemberThank you. I've corrected the language file. The next version will contain your fixes.
pdf24MemberWe have that feature on our TODO list but for now I can't say when we can implement that feature.
pdf24MemberYou can only remove the autostart entry for the pdf24.exe. If you remove the autostart entry for the pdf24.exe and if the pdf24.exe is not running then you can't use your pdf printer. Your print job will remain in the printer queue until you start the pdf24.exe.
pdf24MemberDo you have Word installed on that machine?
pdf24MemberYou can also enable the auto save feature and then you can save automatically and you can invoke a command on that newly saved file.
pdf24MemberJust hit the Open button in the assistant, not the Preview button. That will open your default PDF viewer.
