Agree this would be good, 3 steps to highlight text really interrupts the flow of reading. Even if you could pre-activate the highlighter to apply to any text selected that would be good. But keyboard shortcuts are ideal.
It's also not clear how to remove highlighting - ctrl-z doesn't work, there's no undo in the menu, no remove uption in the highlight menu and repeating the highlight selection just layers more colour on top.

To remove a highlight, just right-click the highlighted text and choose Annotation->Delete or Highlight->None. We also know, that annotating PDFs can be improved. We already have some features on our TODO-List to make it easier and to bring more annotation tools. You are also welcome to make suggestions. We will add everything to our TODO list and then see when and how this can be implemented.
Request "CTRL + H" to bring up color selection dialog.
