How can I prevent PDF24 from running as soon as I log in?

That way I can run it from the start menu when I want to use it, but it isn’t running in the background taking up RAM when I don’t.

I can exit it from the system tray, but how do I stop it from loading in the first place?

You can remove the run entry from registry. Search for a step by step instruction. But note: If the background app is not running PDF files can't be printed. Open the PDF24 Editor to reopen the background app.
