Hello,
sorry for the late reply.
Printers: PDF24 has no function to export the PDF printers and profiles and import them on another server. Thank you for the suggestion, we will add it to our list. For reference, this is where PDF24 keeps them:
- Each PDF printer is a Windows printer with its own port (created with
pdf24-PrinterInstall.exe, see https://creator.pdf24.org/manual/11/#7-pdf24-printerinstallexe) plus an entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PDF24\Services\<ID>, which contains the port (Port) and the settings of this printer, e.g. Auto Save.
- Profiles for all users are under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PDF24\Profiles\fo (ID all/<name>), profiles of a user under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PDF24\Profiles\fo (ID user/<name>).
We have not tested a transfer of these entries to another server, so we cannot recommend a ready procedure yet.
Markup: you can add a text to an existing PDF from the command line as a watermark with the DocTool:
"C:\Program Files\PDF24\pdf24-DocTool.exe" -applyProfile -profile default/good -profileParam pdf-useWatermark true -profileParam pdf-watermarkText "CONFIDENTIAL" -outputFile C:\out\file.pdf -silent C:\in\file.pdf
For color, font, size and position of the text, create a profile of your own in the PDF24 settings under "Output profiles" and use it with -profile user/<name>. Details: https://creator.pdf24.org/manual/11/#1114-apply-a-profile-to-input-files
Adding a watermark also works online: https://tools.pdf24.org/en/add-watermark
