    I am planning to use PDF24-printer for a special task:

    A 32-bit Appication under Windows 7 (yes, super-old, but no alternative) typically produces a print with results from Osteo-Densitometrie scnas.

    The Software has no feature to link it to my documentation system. Also, I cannot configure the data which appears in the print

    I developed a workaround for these cases to get patients data from the document (scanned and orcred). Works fine.

    Now for the question:

    My idea is to print to PDF24-printer instead of a pyhsical printer. Is there a way to aks for patients details when I print and store them with the PDF, e.g. set the documentproperties such as key words ?

    Next:

    Can I automatically print the generated PDF to a file-copy AND a printed version?

    Hello,

    PDF24 cannot ask for extra details by itself while printing. There are two ways to get close to it.

    Manually in the PDF24 Assistant (the window that opens after printing on the PDF24 printer):

    1. Click "Save as...".
    2. Choose PDF as format and open the page "Info".
    3. Tick "Use information" and enter the patient details as title, subject or keywords.
    4. Click "Continue" and choose the folder and file name.
    5. Click "Print" in the Assistant to print the same document on your paper printer as well.

    Automatically, in the PDF24 settings under "PDF Printer" (select the PDF24 printer, then "Automatically save documents after printed"):

    • "Use a file name chooser before saving the file" asks for the file name for every print job, so you can put the patient details into the file name. Document properties such as keywords cannot be asked for this way.
    • "Execute the following command after saving" can print the saved PDF on a paper printer, for example with the PDF24 Reader:
    "C:\Program Files\PDF24\pdf24-Reader.exe" /printTo "Name of your printer" "$file"

    $file is replaced by the path of the saved PDF. Please test this once with your printer. The Reader options are described here: https://creator.pdf24.org/manual/11/#121-command-line
