Is it possible to edit a document from reader view? Or is it only possible to edit files when opening the editor or is there a way to do this from the reader as well?

No, currently not possible in the reader, but you can use the forward tool icon in the toolbar of the reader to forward the file to the toolbox to edit the file there.
