    Hi,

    Somewhere  I read about

    pdf24-DocTool.exe -applyProfile -profile user/XXXXXX -profileParam pdf-watermarkText YYYYYYYY .....

to be used for adding a watermark in batch.

But what is a "profile", what is in it and how to create it ?

In the GUI "Add a watermark to PDFs" there are a lot of settings for the watermark that can be specified, how to provide them to the batch counterpart ?

A profile is a set of parameters to control the generation of an output file. There is an output profile manager that you can use to add/manage profiles.

    -profile user/XXXXXX

XXXXXX is the name of a profile that you have added.

    -profileParam pdf-watermarkText YYYYYYYY

Assigns the value YYYYYYYY to the key pdf-watermarkText.

In order to add a watermark to a file via -applyProfile, you  have to enable the watermark function in the profile. If it's not enabled, then no watermark is added.

    Ok, thank you.
I've seen now how to proceed with those profiles.

Just to know, how can I use a build-in profile (like good-quality) in -profile?

Seems I can only comment my own topic, not the answer you gave

    Hello,

the built-in profiles have these IDs:

    • default/low (Low quality)
    • default/medium (Medium quality)
    • default/good (Good quality)
    • default/high (High quality)
    • default/best (Best quality)

So you use -profile default/good. See also: https://creator.pdf24.org/manual/11/#1114-apply-a-profile-to-input-files

The built-in profiles do not add a watermark. You can switch it on with -profileParam, which overrides values of any profile, also of a built-in one:

    pdf24-DocTool.exe -applyProfile -profile default/good -profileParam pdf-useWatermark true -profileParam pdf-watermarkText "CONFIDENTIAL" -outputFile C:\out\file.pdf -silent C:\in\file.pdf

For other settings such as color, font or position of the watermark, a profile of your own (user/...) as described above is easier.

Adding a watermark is also possible online: https://tools.pdf24.org/en/add-watermark
