Merge PDF online: error "Unknown dir object

I am trying to merge 2 pdf documents but I keep getting an error message:
Sorry, an error occurred.

Unknown dir object c='>' cInt=62 peek='>' peekInt=62 at offset 6589179 (start offset: 6589179)

I am using the web-based version of the pdf online tools and I have been merging other pdf documents that are the same as these without any problems.
Any suggestions or solutions?

BTW, I get this message whether I try to upload the files from my computer or import them from Dropbox.

sorry for the late reply. This message means that one of the PDF files contains a damaged spot (at the position given as "offset") that the merge tool could not read. Since you got it with both upload ways, it is caused by the file itself, not by the upload.

If it still happens, please first open the file that causes the error in Repair PDF and then merge the repaired file:
