Hallo everybody, my name is Bruno

I'm trying to insert the page number on a pdf file, but the printed numbers start from 1.

Is it possible to give a starting number other than 1? I tried something like {NUM} + 100 or {NUM + 100}, but it does not work.

Can any of you help me somehow?

    Thanks in advance and ciao

    Bruno

Newer versions have the offset option in the toolbox which can be used for that.

Thanks very much for the quick answer. I have the latest version.
I tried the offset option, but I surely do something wrong.
I wrote both 10 into the offset field, but it keeps starting from 1

If I input a number into the offset option, page number does not print any more.
Is there a special format I should use?

    Tks

    Hello,

in PDF24 Creator, open the tool "Add page numbers" in the PDF24 Toolbox and enter 19 in the field "Offset". The offset is added to the page number, so the first numbered page gets 20, the next one 21 and so on. With "First page" you choose the page on which the numbering starts. In version 11.31.1 both fields are shown directly in the form; in the next version they are in the dialog "Additional options" behind the cog icon.

In the online tool https://tools.pdf24.org/en/add-page-numbers the field is called "First number", there you enter 20 directly. If you do not see the field, click the cog icon ("Additional options").

Please note: the placeholder for the number of pages ({COUNT} in PDF24 Creator, {CNT} online) then shows the last page number, e.g. 29 for a file with 10 pages. If you only want the page number, use {NUM} as pattern.

    Hello,

in the PDF24 Toolbox tool "Add page numbers" ("Aggiungi numeri pagina" in Italian), the two fields work like this:

    • First page ("Prima pagina"): the page on which the numbering starts. Pages before it get no number. The first numbered page gets the number 1.
    • Offset: a value that is added to every number. With offset 0 the numbering starts at 1, with offset 19 it starts at 20, the next page gets 21 and so on.

Example: the PDF has a cover page and the numbering should start with 1 on page 2: First page = 2, Offset = 0.

The placeholder for the number of pages ({COUNT}) also includes the offset, so it shows the last page number. If you only want the page number, use {NUM} as pattern. In version 11.31.1 both fields are shown directly in the form; in the next version they are in the dialog "Additional options" behind the cog icon.

This also works online: https://tools.pdf24.org/en/add-page-numbers - there the field is called "First number" and you enter the start number directly (e.g. 20).
