The function "recognize text" in the launcher(8.8.2) does not seems to be working, it doesn't show any language to select(for ocr purposes), and doesn't recognize text in images. Its should be properly working?

    Thanks

Ensure that you have internet connection. The OCR tool loads language files on demand because all these files are so large that it makes no sense so deliver all files within the installer. Ensure that internet connection is available and then the language box should show all available ones.

Stefan, hello! In our organization internet is forbidden for most of users. How we can deploy selected OCR languages to user computers?

    Hi, please read this article:

    https://help.pdf24.org/de/fragen/frage/ocr-konfiguration-um-nur-installierte-sprachdateien-zu-verwenden

It's in German, but you can use a translator to translate this article. This gives you the instruction on how to configure the PDF24 in order to use offline language files for OCR.

Thanks for the link, it works!

I'll make script to automate installation.

It would be nice if you could submit the script here so that others can use it.

Sorry, Stefan, I've installed manualy two languages (russian and english) and submit to our testing team. And there is no task to deploy this solution to our users. I'll be back if someone in our organization demand this feature.

Guide is short: download https://creator.pdf24.org/tesseract/4.0/traindata/local-list.txt and save if as trainDataList.txt into PDF24/tesseract directory, delete all but needed languages in this file and download data for each language from https://creator.pdf24.org/tesseract/4.0/traindata/list.txt into tessdata subdir.

My plan was store downloaded language files with PDF24 installer and call installer and copy that files into appropriate directories from within cmd script.
