I have hundreds of existing pdf files coming from 3 different sources. Pdf files coming from 1 particular source always return a xref error when I try to open the files.

Is there a simple way to fix the files with PDF24? Or does PDF24 not support broken pdf files?
If not, is there a plugin or something like that to get it working?
If not, is there a free batch converter or pdf printer that doesn't alter my pdf type and quality settings or that is able to always use my particular settings AND is able to fix the xref error?

When I try that PDF24 returns the same message: "Reason: xref not found". We have Corel PDF Fusion that has no problem with missing xref, but what I love about PDF24 is that it doesn't permit users to alter the contents of the file (text modifications)!!!

Does anyone know of a free or reasonable priced tool that repairs/rebuilds the cross reference table of pdf files, without altering the file specifications itself? I need some 20-30 licenses, so the price must be low (<$15 / <€12) Update: I just found PDF Doctor from Migra software. A site license is $169 on a unlimited number of systems. My only objection is that the tool isn't configurable (e.g. set a default target location after fixing). With the amount of files we have to process, this would be very handy. Any better options?
