PDF24 print job error out in printer queue

Hello,

I am trying to use PDF printer with BarTender program. It looks like that BarTender generated the label print job but the print job is error out in the printer queue. The label output to pdf file to a local folder on the c: drive. The PDF24 service is running and all setup are on the same PC. What am I missing? Any suggestion?

It worked when I open a word doc file and print to the PDF24 printer but not through BarTender program.

Yes, the PDF24 windows service is running.

Owner of the print JOB is SYSTEM which is a special account in windows. This is not a real user account and PDF24 is unable to submit the print job to the right user. Therefore PDF24 can not handle it. It is important, that the USER of the print job is a real user so that PDF24 can submit the job the that user.

Thanks for the quick reply. In my case though the print job user is SvcAcct and my user is DevUser both are real. Is there any logs I can look at to give any more information? I have just installed the latest version as I saw there were some updates regarding permissions

The windows printer queue is one step ahead of PDF24. If the user is not correct here, then you have to look for the problem when printing....

I have also had the exact same issue when an automated service tries to print using a different user. Using the logged on user is working perfectly

I am assuming that the Service user does not have permissions to files/folders somewhere

Check the PDF24 windows Service, the state must be running, otherwise the PDF printer will not work. The user is SYSTEM, which is unusual. I think that this is th problem because PDF24 does not know the actual user.
