OK, it seems that that printer could not be installed correctly. The printerInstall.exe should be automatically deleted after the printer installation. The printerInstall.exe installs only the pdf24-printer. If the pdf24-printer appears in windows, the printer driver should be installed correctly but if the printerInstall.exe is still running the programm could not finish the last steps.

The printerInstall.exe process can be killed.

The important programm is the PDFBackend.exe. (previously named PDF24Updater.exe).

This files should be installed in the c:/programs/pdf24 folder. You wrote that there is no such file. hmm OK.. i can send you this file.. but if this file could not be installed it is probable that other files could not be installed too.

Did you have installed the latest version from pdf24.org? If not, please download the latest version and try to install again.

To create an autostart entry, the PDFBackend.exe must exist.

you sag that there is an installed printer in windows named pdf24. If so the printer seems installed correctly. The Message "document couldn't be printed" occures if the backend program of pdf24-creator does not running. The backend program called pdfBackend must running to create pdf. You can look in you task manager to make sure that this program is running. If the programm is not running than you can start the programm manually.

If the programm is running, you can test a print. If this works, allmost everything seems ok. I thing that the setup could not complete the last steps or the setup program hangs up.

Normally the pdf24-Setup creates an autostart entry in registry to start the programm at any system start. If the program does not start at system start, you have to create an autostart entry for the pdfbackend process.

Let me know if something works.

i'm currently don't know whats going wrong. We have tested the setup many time and had no problems. Maybe you have a special windows setting so the installation can't finnish.

You can't install pdf24 on Windows 98. You need at least Windows 2000.

I dont know why the pdf24 installer stops the installation. Has anybody else the poblem?

you can use our email.converter. If you have an account, just create a email, attach all 3 bitmap files and send it to our special email adress. All 3 bitmaps will be converted and send back to you.

You have to update pdf24-creator 6 month after installation, if an update is available. If no update is available you can use pdf24 without any update questions.

If you do not have a internet connection, pdf24 can't check for updates and you do not can update pdf24.

The pdf24 update process is also for security reason.

We don't have a options button.

In previous versions of pdf24 we had the problem with black buttons, but if you have one black button, all other buttons should also be black.

This problem occures when you have enabled the 16-bit mode of your graphic card. In 32 bit mode all should work fine.

In the current version the buttons should not be black, neither in 16 bit mode.

es wurde heute ein neues Setup erstellt, das auch unter Windows Vista funktionieren sollte.

Es wird bald eine Version 2 erscheinen, die viele neue Funktionen bereit enthält. Dort werden wir dann auch eine Lösung für Vista liefern.

Eventuell enthält Vista ja den "HP Color LaserJet 8550-PS". Dieser Treiber sollte auch gut funktionieren. Falls Sie einen anderen passenden Treiber gefunden haben, dann können sie diesen hier gerne listen.

PDF24-creator work on Windows Vista. The installation programm do not install the pdf24-creator correctly! The main programm is installed correctly, but the printer driver.

To install the pdf24-creator you have to execute the installation programm. After installing pdf24-creator install a printer driver manually.

the browser creates the appearance of the printing. I think this is not a problem of pdf24. If the internet page dos not fit to an A4 page, the browser cut something. Maybe you can solve the problem if you print in landscape format..

Hello, try the following:

- print a document
- in printer dialog select pdf24
- click on printer options
- click on tab layout
- select landscape orientation

click OK and then print the document to create landscape PDF.

Thats an unresolved problem of pdf24-creator. The problem occures when you logoff and then logon with an other username. The problem should not occur when you restart the pc und login directly with the other username.

We try to solve the problem in next version of pdf24-creator
