    Please send me the fontmap.gs, which is not working, to forum@pdf24.org so that I can analyse the file. Maybe we can implement a fix.

    Do you change the temp folder?

    Seems that the temp folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64 is not writeable for the users processes.

    This temp folder is not the normal users temp folder. Does all users have the same temp folder?

    You can still also use the Creator to extract pages and you can decide whether to use the extraction tool or the Creator.

    You can toggle the current selection by richt-clicking into the empty space of the page area and in the popup-menu, hit the toggle selection entry.

    Does your file name or file path or windows user name contains umlauts? That could be a reason.

    Hi,

    here are some questions, that would help us to find the problem:

    What are the differences between the PC's?
    Is there any security software installed?

    You could try to open the debug console with F12. Some GUI's provide that feature and then you can do the task which leads to the error. The console should show the outputs and maybe the error.

    You can send me the outputs to forum@pdf24.org and you can send test files as well so that I can analyse a bit.

    You can also try our online PDF file joiner if you have problems with somes file. Here we use an other software, that is doing really good when it comes to merging pdfs.

    We are working on that feature to make the Windows fonts available.

    Hi, this is currently not possible. I've added a feature request to our list, so that the developer can implement that feature. An google analytics event could also be used for that. Would that be fine?

    This should work, I've just tested that. The configs are stored in the registry. THe user config is storted ujder the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/PDFPrint and the application config is stored under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WOW6432Node/PDFPrint.

    You can use the NO... keys in both, the user and the app config.

    NoTrayIcon=1 disables the try icon
    NoOnlineConverter=1 disables the online converter
    NoOnlinePdfTools=1 disables the online pdf tools
    NoShellContextMenuExtension=1 disables shell extension
    NoPDF24MailInterface=1 disables the PDF24 mail interface
    NoFax=1 disables fax
    NoCloudPrint=1 disables cloud print

    All the values above are DWORDs.

    If you see some buttons in the GUI after you have configured not to show that buttons, please make a screenshot and send it to forum@pdf24.org and then I'll look a bit deeper into the code to check that that.

    Hi,

    the cloud print function can be disabled by the config key "NoCloudPrint". Set NoCloudPrint=1 in the registry under HCCU/Software/PDFPrint.

    The Mail interface can be configured in the settings.

    The exe setup is created with INNO SETUP and that is a good place to go for information. Currently I don't know how to do that. Otherwise you could just delete the shortcuts after the installation.

    You can change the default printer in the windows printer manager. I don't think, that we actively set the PDF printer to default, we actually just install.

    You can disable update in the settings. Regarding the mail, have you checked your SPAM-Folder? Maybe the mail is there. Otherwise you can use the MSI and and you can customize yourself by putting a logo.bmp file into the install folder. That will replace the banner in the app too. Much success! The PDF24 Creator is free 😉

    Page numbers can be added with the PDF24 Creator 8.1.0. The Save As dialog contains a new section under den PDF output filter and there you can configure the page numbers.

    This is not possible. The tool layouts from left to right. This is better for moving pages around. This tool is not a PDF reader, a PDF reader following in one or two releases which can layout from top to bottom.

    Hi,

    can you send me a test jpeg file to forum@pdf24.org and a short instructions to get the error? Then I can try to reproduce this issue in order to fix it.

    ScanGear has nothing to do with PDF24. PDF24 just uses the scanner drivers in your system and if the driver rescans, then it is implemented in that driver.

    If images inside a PDF to large, then it will take time to process them. Some apps are good at that and some not.

    What would you say if we bring our own small and fast PDF reader with the PDF24 Creator?

    Your PDF files contains images and not text. That is the reason why your PDF files is that big. That is maybe the problem why Sumatra is slow when rendering your PDF files.

    When you use the PDF printer, make sure, that you use the PDF printer and the assistant to transform the PDF files. I think that you scanned with a to high resolution. You can reduce that with the PDF printer.

    The Creator of the PDF24 application loads your file and produces a preview. The large image file in the PDF24 temp folder could be a preview image and if you printed with an to high resolution, than your images in the PDF files are very big, but above 100 GB is really to big and that could be a sign that something is strange.

    What you can try is to produce a PDF files with a low resolution. Open your PDF files and print them on the PDF printer. Make sure, that you use the Assistant and not the creator. Change your settings if you currently use the creator. Print the PDF files. In the print options, click on the General or Advanced button (I don't know the button name in your language). In the advanced printer settings form change the print resolution to a lower resolution. 600 DPI is enabled as default and you could try to print with 150 DPI which is sometimes enough.

    That should produce a new PDF files based on your original one and the images in the files should now be of a lower resolution. The assistant do not produce preview images so that you do not spend CPU in this process. In the assistant you can save your printed file. Choose a lower quality profile to ensure, that your files do not get to big when creating the PDF files from the printer outputs.

    I hope that works. If not, then there is something other wrong in the process, thinks like some incompatibilities or other issues.

    You could try to print the file on the PDF24 PDF printer to create a new PDF files based on the contents of your file. Maybe this newly created file works better. Could you test that?

    This is a good question and this happens very rarely, but currently we do not know why. We try to find the problem and we try to fix this if we know what the problem is.

    You said that other versions are ok? What was you last version which do not opens in the background?

    The PDF24 Creator treats the / letter as a path name separator. All letter before the / is the file path and all letters behind the / is the file name. There is currently no option to change that behaviour.
