You can remove a PDF password very easily with PDF24. You can do that online and offline. Our online password removal tool is located here: https://tools.pdf24.org

To remove a PDF password with the PDF24 Creator do the following:
    1. Open the protected PDF file with a PDF reader
    2. Print this file on the PDF24 PDF printer.

This produces a password free PDF files which you can use further.

Maybe maybe not. I've added a point to our TODO list so that we can think about this.

The Save As dialog gives you some options to select the color space. There you can also choose grey to render the PDF in greyscale.

I hope so, because we try to keep the features in sync so that we can target offline and online users. Offline solution development is a bit harder and here we need more time to bring new features.

We have a special tool for that, a tool, to digitally sigh PDF files and this tools supports signatures as PNG, JPG and you can also add a signature via camera or you can add one via a pen.

    This tool is located here:

You should clarify why this does not work on work. It should work and you do not need admin privileges for this feature. The last used profile is stored in the user profile in the registry under the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER(/Software/PDFPrint.

If this feature is not working for you, then you should find out why the setting is not stored under this path.

Currently you can't do this with PDF24. We have such a feature request on our list, but we currently have no stable solution for that. As soon as we have one, we will add it to our software.

The printer profiles are store in the registry under the following path:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PDFPrint\Services

Printers could also be created on a server and then shared with the users, but that often also means that there is no user context and you can not store in a user specific folder.

ah, file must be lowercase. You have to use "${file}" or "$file"

Please try to execute the command manually on the command line in a shell. Does this work?

Hmm weird. Do you see any kind of error or are the printout in the Windows printer queue and can not be processed or send to the printer?

Seems that you have used a dash at -printerName and not a hyphen. I've corrected your command in your question. Please test this one.

Do you have an application installed, that can print PDF files? The shellPrint command uses ShellExecute from Windows with the print operation. In order to get this to work, there needs to be an application installed that can print the file and that registers correctly in Windows. If you have e.g. the Adobe Reader installed, than the shellPrint command should work.

Put a logo.jpg files into the install directory of the PDF24 Creator. This replaces the banner in the application. Otherwise you can use the customizer on our website to create a custom setup, where you can replace the banner as well.

Open your files with an application, that can print the file as vector. Then print your file with that application on the PDF24 PDF printer. This should produce a vector PDF.

You can do this with the PDF24 Creator or with the online PDF tool in the PDF24 toolbox.

In the PDF24 Creator, do the following:

    1. Right click your file and choose PDF24 in the context menu
    2. Scroll down and click the split page by page button
    3. Choose the output folder and proceed

The online web tool is located here:

Ok, the PDF24 Creator uses a Windows Service to redirect print jobs. You can find the service in the Windows Service manager. The name is PDF24. This service must be in a running state in order to get the PDF printer to work. Did you stop the service or do you see some system errors in the Windows event viewer? If the PDF24 service is not running, then the PDF printer will not work. Normally the PDF24 pops up a message box that tells you, that the service is stopped and there is a button to restart it. This is implemented in the current version 8.4.1.

What does Windows say? Is there a message from Windows 10? Normally Windows asks for Admin privileges to install the PDF24 Creator and this is normally OK. Windows normally asks you whether you want to install the PDF24 Creator from the Geek Software GmbH as long as the signature of the installer is correct. Did you download from our http://www.pdf24.org pages? If not, we can not guarantee, that what you have downloaded is really the PDF24 Creator.

Simply use the PDF24 Creator. This application is for Windows and then you get a PDF printer which you can use to create your PDF files. Just open your MHT file and print it on the PDF24 Creator.

    Hello,

when you drop your image or PDF file to the file box at https://tools.pdf24.org/en/ocr-pdf, then the settings form should appear below the drop box and below that box there should be a button to start the process. What do you see? You can send me screenshots to forum@pdf24.org so that I can see what you see.

    Hello,

you can remove your password from the PDF file with the PDF24 online tool that you can find here:
    https://tools.pdf24.org/en/unprotect-pdf

There you have to drop your secured PDF files and the password and then you can download the PDF files unsecured and that unsecured file can be used with the PDF24 Creator.

    Stefan Ziegler

Install the PDF24 Creator and ensure, that the PDF24 Windows Service is running. You can check that in the Windows Service manager. After you have installed the PDF24 Creator, you will find the PDF24 entry there. This PDF24 service is responsible for processing print jobs of the PDF printer. If you disable this service or if the service is in an error state, then the PDF printer will not work.

in reply to: Save PDF-file in same folder of original file #3182

When you use the auto save feature of the printer, then you have to configure a folder where files gets stored. There is no way to specify to save in the folder the original file is saved. This information is often not available when the file gets printed on the PDF printer.

The PDF24 Creator can split a PDF files page by page, but splitting after every X-th pages is currently not possible. Our online PDF tool (https://tools.pdf24.org/en/split-pdf) is a bit more powerful here. The online tool can do exactly that.
