Seems to be that Word does this for downloaded files. This should disappear when you enter the "Edit" mode.
Hi, I would say that PDF Readers always use a white background when drawing pages or page contents. Otherwise, transparent PNGs are supported by PDF24.
"Import from scanner" uses the UI of the scanner driver and PDF24 can not change settings there. If the scanner driver software does not offer different sizes, then you can not use it and PDF24 can not add missing sizes. What you can try is the following: Open the scanner software delivered with you scanner and look for an option to add paper sizes.
This is not the PDF24 Reader, so it has nothing to do with PDF24. Please report this to the creator of the software.
No, i can not recommend a software and you probably won't get much for free, because editing text is not easy and so we don't have a solution ready here yet.
PDF24 itself is not yet able to change text in a PDF. This feature is on our TODO list, but as of now we don't have a solution to offer.
The file just contains an image so there is no text information in the file and this is why you can not edit text. You can only hide existing text with a rectangle and you can add new text.
The problem is the following:
If REMOVE=WebView2 is used alone, the MSI installer deselects all components. To solve the problem, the command must be the following:
pdf24-creator-11.10.1.msi AUTOUPDATE=No DESKTOPICONS=No FAXPRINTER=No REGISTERREADER=No ADDLOCAL=ALL REMOVE=WebView2 /qn
The difference is ADDLOCAL=ALL. This selects all components and just removes webview2.
We'll look into this as soon as possible and we'll fix the problem if we can reproduce it.

PDF24 Reader does not currently save the information. We have such a point on the TODO.
Sure, this is possible. Just use our Images to PDF tool and you will be happy. There you can choose all your images you want to combine into a single PDF files. There is also an option to use the file names for the bookmark tree. The online tool works online and uses PDF24 servers to combine the files. If you want to work offline, just download and install PDF24 Creator. The Toolbox of PDF24 Creator has the same tool but works offline.
Please recommend PDF24 to others. Many do not know us yet and I think we offer a good service that is interesting for many. Recommendations are thanks enough for us.
We get some e-mails that PDF24 is not yet well found in some countries and then after PDF24 is used, people are excited. So, recommendations would help here.

https://tools.pdf24.org/en/optimize-pdfEnvironment variables are only passed to a process when it is started. A change in the environment variables is not passed to the running PDF24 process. For this, a process needs to be stopped. I would recommend to work the the print job name if you can because PDF24 reads this name and provides it via a variable.
Just select the files in Windows Explorer, right-click to open the context menu and then click the "Open" menu item. This opens selected files in PDF24 Reader if PDF24 Reader is your default PDF Reader.
If you chose the option to copy the file into the clipboard, then you can use CTRL+V to paste the image to an app that supports images.
This is still on our TODO. We work on this issue.
concatenate: Creates a new PDF, appends pages of first file, then pages of second file, ....
collate: This mode uses a zipper merge method. Creates a new PDF, appends all first pages, then all second pages, ....
Does it not? I have tested this, works for me. What happens if you click the undo/redo buttons? Nothing?
I have opened a ticket for this so we can try to reproduce this problem.
Command above changed, should be pdf24-DocTool.exe and not pdf24-ocr.exe
This command should work:
pdf24-DocTool.exe -applyProfile -profile user/MYPROFILE -outputFile "c:\PDF\output.pdf" "C:\PDF\1.pdf"
The prefix user/xxxx specifies profiles you have added as a user. If you have added a profile named "testprofile" then you can access it with user/testprofile.
This is on the roadmap, but currently we haven't finished a component that can do that. As soon as we have one, we'll add it the our editor.
The toolbox is build on top of webview2. If there is no webview2 (installed with pdf24 or evergreen provided by windows), then the toolbox will not work.
We work on a solution to provide a portable version with reduced function set because not all features are possible here.
