Do you have disabled the pdf24.exe autostart entry? The pdf24.exe process must be in the process list. If there is no pdf24.exe process then the printer does not work.

The Creator itself starts the pdf24.exe if the process is not running so that the printer works.

Seems that Word COM automation is broken, but I currently don't know how to fix that.

Hmm hard to answer. Is the PDF printer working? Please try to print a file on the PDF24 PDF Printer.

When saving, uncheck the auto rotate checkbox. Then it should work.

Normally the setup takes care about the background pdf24 task. This task is killed by the setup. Currently I don't know what happens if other processes are still open while installing a new version. Think that installer warns or needs reboot.

You can send screenshots to forum@pdf24.org.

    Hi,

mixing the installers isn't a good idea. Currently the .exe setup does not take care about an existing MSI installation.

The MSI is normally the right choice to distribute in networks and the exe is better for none distribution.

If you install the exe, you have to uninstall the msi first.

Can you tell me what problems you have with the MSI version?

    Hi,

the online converter supports links, but the PDF24 Creator not. This feature is still on our TODO list.

    Hi,

most settings are per user, but there are also settings which are for all users, like update settings. The settings are separated by the windows registry pathes HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Hmm, currently I don't know how to solve that problem. We had some issues with the TWAIN driver which is responsible for reading data from scanners. Your problem could be a new one.

We also have the point on our TODO list to overwork the TWAIN driver but I think we will remove that driver in the near future and replace that one with a WIA driver which is then hopefully more robust to read images from scanner or camera.

But I think it will take a few weeks until we have the WIA driver implemented to replace the TWAIN driver.

    Hi,

is the freeze reproducible? Does the program freeze when you load a certain file? If so, send the file to forum@pdf24.org and we will check that issue.

Hmm.. this is a small bug in version 6.0.0. Version 6.0.1 follows which fixes that issue.

You can't change the content of PDF pages. The PDF24 Creator can't do that. You can edit the PDF file page-based, such as removing whole pages, replacing whole pages, moving whole pages, but editing the content of a page can't be realized with the PDF24 Creator.

The feature is on our TODO list, but it's not planned for the next version.

What exactly do you mean when you say visible? Do you have the PDF printer? Try to open a document, click File->print, choose the PDF24 PDF printer and print out. Then the PDF24 Assistant should open.

Or use the PDF24 Editor, there must be an icon on your desktop after installation. double click the icon to open the PDF24 Editor.

Currently we don't have that feature but can be easily done by cropping with an image editor and then converted to PDF with the PDF24 Editor.

What PDF Editor do you use? Do you really use a PDF24 product? As far as I know the PDF24 Creator has no message like the mentioned one above.

The setup generator only creates exe files. The MSI version can't currently be created by that tool. You can also use the MSI version for installation. After an installation, copy a logo.bmp file into the install dir. That image will then be used within the application.

Links to the setup can't be removed. Update search feature is also accessible by the user, also if updates are disables. Disabling updates means disabling the auto updater but updater can be executed manually.

The application checks, whether the user can install the update or not. If the user belogs to the administrator group, update is possible and if not, the update can't be installed. The update itself needs admin rights to be installed.

Hmm normally not, but it can be that the application consumes to much memory for that large file.

What you can try is the following:

print the large PDF file on the PDF printer first to create a new PDF file with the hope that the newly created PDF file works.

This is often a trick to get some files to work if you get errors.

No, not for the MSI. Simply copy a logo.bmp file into the install folder to change die app image.

Currently we don't have a mechanism to bypass this security step. Each mail address must be activated so that we know, that we can send documents to that mail address.

Thunderbird should support SimpleMAPI so that you can use Thunderbird with PDF24. Enabling Thunderbird as default MAIL client should be the trick to open Thunderbird when using the PDF24 Mail functions.
